After teaching in Jiangsu, you may wish to travel within China before returning home.

You might head north to see Beijing, the capital of the People’s Republic of China, a city of over 22 million in 2023. The Forbidden City, Tian’anmen Square, The Temple of Heaven, the Summer Palace and the Great Wall are all must-sees in and around the city. Or head for Xi’an, the capital of Shaanxi province to see the Terracotta Warriors. This is a popular option for those travelling to China for the first time.

If you go to the west, you could see The Giant Panda Reserve near Chengdu in Sichuan, take a Yangzi River cruise to or from Chongqing, or go to Yunnan province to see the Stone Forest and Tiger Leaping Gorge. Some of China’s most interesting ethnic minorities live in this area.

In the southern part of China,  you can visit Shanghai, the nation’s most dynamic city with a futuristic skyline and a history of glamour and decadence. The Bund, the Shanghai Museum, the Temple of the Jade Buddha and unsurpassed shopping are all here. Or head to Guilin to cruise the Li River through landscape that seems lifted straight out of a Chinese scroll painting. Or go to Hong Kong,  a city of wealth, history, delicious food and lots of shopping. There is also Hong Kong Disneyland, hiking, swimming, markets and tea at the Peninsula Hotel.

Of course, there are numerous other possibilities. We suggest you use a Professional, Experienced travel agent who will be happy to work with you to select a trip that best meets your interests and pocketbook.
